Scored the Jimi Hendrix 2014 Postal Stamps

Scored some Jimi Hendrix stamps today! I live in a town so small, I was the first person to ask for them at the post office!
I'm declaring myself the Official Jimi Hendrix Fan of the town.
August is my birthday month and for two years in a row I've scored some Hendix paraphernalia, last year being a portrait of the guitar player.  I believe a new tradition has been born.

Prior, my tradition was going to the Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival down at the Crossroads  where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil for guitar skills.

I broke that 15 year tradition in 2013, it was a difficult thing to do. Mostly it was a personal protest of how the "free" festival had erected barriers blocking access of the front stage area to the public and offering that space for $10,000.00 "donations". That action alone is worthy of a post but is only part of this story, the real one being that without planning, a new tradition has taken its place. To buy Jimi Hendrix stuff during my birthday month. Some good mojo or voodoo?

With that said, some mood music for the stamps:

Considered to be the greatest rock guitarist of all time, Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970) was one of the most important musicians of the 20th century. Combining influences from rock, jazz, soul, and blues with his own innovations, he created a unique sound and style that continue to inspire musicians and win new fans.

P.S. I also bought a sheet for mom too, she will be surprised when she opens the snail-mail.
